Delta management

Hi all,

We have 2LIS_11_VAITM active in production with a 3.x dataflow. We want to use the same datasource to build a new dataflow withe a new DSo and a cube without touching the existing flow.

How do we ensure that the initialization and the delta for the existing DSOs is not affected? if we need to do a re-init, what are the steps?

What are the overall steps to be taken?

Thanks,

Raj

If the new flow require Historical then you will have to fill setup tables(if setup tables doesn't have data) and extract to BW using repair full only to that New Flow

    For deltas -

Extract all the data from delta queue and make sure 0/0 records then

you will have to remove existing Init flag and create new Infopackage and select both targets and do Init without data transfer

create another Infopackge for deltas and insert this in PC , Now you will have deltas for both Old and New flows

You will have to take downtime for filling setup tables , you can estimate be referring old logs in NPRT

You can talk to business when they have holiday / weekends .. you can carry on this activity

You can parallelize the setup table jobs in background to reduce the down time and also

Early delta Init ( you have the option of writing the data into the delta queue or into the delta tables for the application during the initialization request in the source system.)

To not affect your current delta, you can use repair full request to get data until current delta, and continue from then onwards.
