Hi,
I am running copy express for copying data from existing database to new database. But the thing is it is taking lots of time to copy the data. It is taking more than 6 hours for copying.
In Some company DBs it is not responding.
Please suggest me the best practice to do the same.
Hi,
I think what Gordon means is that for large numbers of master data records, CopyXpress may not be ideal. I've used it myself without any issues but with up to about 5K of IMD records and even less of BPMD.
If you are looking at thousands of master data records, speed will be an issue. You can always break it up (do a range of records at a time) but it will still take time.
If you have a complex IMD setup (i.e. lots of warehouses, GL settings are item group/level instead of WH, min/max levels, etc), it will take longer as there are more details.
If you use DTW, you still need to export the data and put it into files that are formatted to be used with DTW so best way to determine which is better is to look at your setup and determine what needs to be set up in the new db.

Hi,
What are you copying? Copy Express is the tool suitable to copy configuration only. For larger amount of master data, use DTW.
Thanks,
Gordon
