Hi All
I need to assign a new cost center to the HR module to allocate for payroll costs...
I m not sure what needs to be done but can anyone guide me on this
Thank you
Rukshana
or in IMG for Controlling:
Cost Center Accounting -> Actual Postings -> Actual Data Transfer -> Transfer of Personnel Costs from Human Resources (HR)
- Assign Personnel Costs to Cost Centers
- Define Substitute Cost Centers for Payroll
look in IMG documentation for description of activity

Hi Dejan
Thank you very very much for that...
when i checked in customizing, there are no entries made under the customizing node 'Define Substitute Cost Centers for Payroll' but all the cost elements are assigned to internal orders under the node 'Assign Personnel Costs to Cost Centers'
So now I have a requirement to assign the new cost center to payroll, so does it mean that i assign it under 'Define Substitute Cost Centers for Payroll'
Thank you once again for the support

HI,
the IMG path described by Dejan and me lead to the same maintenance transaction so no matter which one you use.
Regarding your additional question, read the documentation to the IMG activity.
Normally cost center information is derived from the employee's cost center assignment in HR so only some specific cases are posted using this 'Define Substitute Cost Centers for Payroll' IMG step.
But yes, there you can change the CO-object assignment, just clarify the business process first.
Best regards, Christian
Hi,
this can be done in HR customizing: Payroll / payroll international / Reporting for posting payroll results to accounting / Activities for AC system / assign substitute cost centers.
best regards, Christian
