Hi , Please suggest me the file system and mount points which we need to ask from OS/SAN guys before starting the installation.
As per the installation guide if the directory like /usr , /oracle etc are not created manually these are automatically created under the /root folder .
I need to install ECC 6.0 EHP4 ready installation with oracle DB.
Please suggest ..

All that information - including the filesystem sizes and the required mountpoints, are documented in the installation guide. Did you look at it?

Yes , i am following the guide ( SAP ERP 6.0 - EHP4 Ready SR1 ABAP on HP-UX: Oracle) , however i am not clear of few things like
1. The guide states that page 54
"The figure below assumes that you have set up one file system for the SAP system mount directory <sapmnt> and one file system for the /usr/sap directory. However, you have to decide for which directories you want to set up separate file systems. If you do not set up any file system on your installation host, SAPinst creates all directories in the root directory /. "
Here if we create only /sapmnt and /usr/sap then other sub directories will be created automatically ? however regarding space of the sub directories , like for ehp4 i want the /usr/sap/trans folder to be of at least 50 GB . For that i have to create all sub file systems /directories manually ? or should i just create /usr/sap folder of something like 80 GB ?
2. For oracle filesystem the guide ( page 58 Fig 10 ) says you need to create manually the /oracle filesystems , now the space required for /oracle filesystem is 50 MB and under that for /oracle/client is 100 MB . I am not able to understand are these sub directories or totally different directories ? or i need to create individual filesystem for oracle,
Please advice ..

Hi ,
You can have file systems like ...
/usr/sap
/sapmnt/<sid>
/usr/sap/trans
/oracle
/oracle/<sid>
/oracle/<sid>/oraarch
/oracle/<sid>/origlogA
/oracle/<sid>/mirrlogB
/oracle/<sid>/origlogB
/oracle/<sid>/mirrlogA
/oracle/<sid>/sapdata1
/oracle/<sid>/sapdata2
..
..
/oracle/<sid>/sapdata(n)
You might create seperate fliesystems for sapbackup , sapreorg , etc .

Thanks , however what would be the size of /oracle/sid/sapdata files and how many number of data files we should take , also as it would be EHP4 installation should we increase the size or should we create more sapdata files as it creates a new tablespace of around 70 GB in between of installation.
Please advice for filesystem particularly for EHP4 ready installation .
regards
Hi,
You can create sapdata1 to sapdata4 with around 150 GB of each..You should also have around 50 GB of space (in /usr/sap/trans or any other file system where you will create upgrade directory) as buffer because you need to perform upgrade of EHP4 ready system to EHP4 level as well.
Thanks
Sunny
Thanks sunny , i have took separate partition for ehpi , however , what else i need to tell the OS and SAN guys to perform. They are asking for mount points also ...all these file system directories will be mount point automatically ..?
Am i right?
