DB: The SAP SSO authentication process will fail

We are currently encountering issues while creating a universe connection on a SAP data source in BOE Designer.

When one tries to login as an Administrator and creates a data access driver connection using Authentication mode as "Use specified username and password" it works fine.(It shows the required infocubes and queries etc.)

But when one tries to login as an Administrator and create a connection as "Use single sign on when refreshing reports at view time", it throws an error stating that

"DB: The SAP SSO authentication process will fail because the current user doesn't have an alias that matches system <SystemnameClientNumber>

I need SSO Authentication to be working here but have been unable to do that.Any assistance shall be appreciated.

Hi,

did you configure the SAP authentication and are you logging on with your SAP credentials to the Universe Designer ?

I've configured the SAP Authentication successfully but it doesn't allow me to login with my SAP Credentials into Designer.

If I try logging with my SAP user (which works fine whilst System entitlement), it fails with an error stating that your login ID is not valid.

The same holds true if I use SAPSYSTEM~CLIENTNUMBER\USERNAME.

So I end up using the general BOE Administrator credentials.

Hi,

- did you assign the necessary rights in the BOE server to the SAP roles so that they can use the designer ?

- you need to enter the user in <System ID>~<client>\<user name>

The user "CRYSTAL" did not have RFC Authorizations and the following profiles were found to be missing in our environments Post addition of these, its working as desired.

- S_BI-WHM_RFC

- S_BI-WXM_RFC
