CRVS2010 Beta - Merge Modules or distributing an .exe?

I'm maintenance on a CR for Visual Studio 2003 web application and we're trying to upgrade to VS & CR 2010. We're doing the evaluation now in order to submit the technology upgrade budget request.

Will there be merge modules added to the final release? Is the redistributable required only by the application server or by each client?

I was able to load in and run our application reports successfully in the IDE for beta 1 but never got it to deploy locally to IIS. Am I correct in thinking it is because I didn't have the redistributable even though everything was local?

Once I installed beta 2 and the run times, IIS refused to start and I am building a new environment to start fresh with beta 2 and the run times.

Is there a deployment guide available anywhere? The help file link I found was a dead link.
