Routing/work center selection in CU50

Hi,

In variant configuration I want to select correct routing and in another case correct operation (i.e. work center) in CU50 screen.

In case of correct routing selection, I have created different groups of routing (for the same material) and classified them at the header level based on the characteristics I have for the header material. In each routing group I have given the proper value of the characteristics in its classification screen.

However in CU50 when I click on the task list button, system shows me all the groups whereas I want to have the unique routing which corresponds to the characteristics value I have given as Input.

In case of correct operation/work center selection, I am bit confused whether to classify the workcenters or to classify the operations (at operation level) in the routing. Again to make one operation variant I guess I need to enter all the variant operations with the same operation number (e.g. 0010 or 0020 etc.), for which system would give error message. In such cases how it is to be done?

Hi snigdho,

I think your requirement is to select the Correct Routing and also correct Operation based on the paramters given inthe Configuration.

For this to happen, ensure that the selection condition is writtern properly for the Operation,

Once your have your SElection conditions dependencies attached to the operation then based on the configuraiton the operation will be selected correctly

Using proper object dependencies I have managed to pick the correct operation. But in this case I have some questions:

a. In routing since I am not able to repeat the operation number, the operation picked up by selection method may not reflect the correct operation sequence. For example, I have only one operation with three variants. In this case I need to define all the three operations in routing with operation no 0010, 0020, 0030. So when 3rd variant is picked up, the operation 0030 is displayed, whereas I want the system to display it as 0010. How to solve this?

b. I have noticed that in operation screen of the routing there is an option for operation classification. When do we use that? Also when do we use work center classification?

c. Even for routing header there is an option for classification. Do these functionalities are also used in variant configuration?

Ans:

• System will not allow You to change the Operation number dyanamically,

• All the data is already stored in the Database tables of routing / operation, Trying tochange them dyanamically will

make us inconsistency in pulling the data in later stages.

• It is better to adhere to the no 30 itself by that it will help you for easier identification also.

common answer for both B&C:

• Generally you can create a class generic class and assign some characteristics.

• the characterisitics values can be filled at each routing level .

• Ex if you have some lenght ,, witdht, Nominal machine speed etc.

• This genearlly help us to enter the vlaues and fethch it for reporting .

• Ex: when we have some inputs like machine speed etc...so that in the custom shopfloor we can prvoide infomation at material level.
