CJ88 - settlement rule required for all wbs elements - how to change that

Hello guys,

I want to achieve following functionality:

project has all acount asignment elements

only certain wbs elements get status RELEASED (others are prereleased)

only those certain wbs elements have settlemen rule.

when settling on CJ88 - only released wbs should be taken.

at present moment system requires settlement rule for all wbs elements, both released and prereleased.

how can I modify this behaviour?

regards,

Laimonas

One option I can think of is using Collective processing - CJ8G

Create a selection variant, and when you define the selection variant, use the status selection profile which reads only WBSE with REL status and then save your variant. Execute the settlement for this variant.

You should know how to define status selection profile, for more information on this refer SAP Help or search the forum, you will get lot of threads explaining status selection profile.

I think your main concern is that settlement rule should be only on REL WBS element only & when you settle via CJ88 at that time only REL WBS only shoudl be taken apart from that is there anythign else you are looking for ? Pelase clarify.

How you are creating settlement rule manually or CJB1/CJB2 ? I above confimed that for settlment you are using CJ88 only..

hi Nitin,

yes, on CJ88 I want to settle a whole project, and on project I have settlement rule for released wbs elements only.

settlement rule is applied individually, since specific settlement receiver can vary.

so... what do you think ?

Have a different settlement profile for the pre-released WBS elements with Not to Settle as the selected option

yes, my first idea was to make a substitution, which removes or substitutes the settlement profile. But I didn't find appropriate object in substitutions..

Virendra, please explain exactly what you mean with your suggestion.

What he meant is, Create two settlement profile, one is to do settlment and another one is not for settlelement. He suggests you to assign not for settlement profiles to all the WBSE which is not released, by this way system will ignore these WBSE during settlement run.

But remember, You have to change the Settlement profile for each and every WBSE after you release the WBSE. If you forget to do this, system will not perform settlement for these WBSE even if it is released.

ok, this is "usable" option.

So we figured out 3 ways:

1. in CJ88 user can settle each released WBS element, but not project as a whole.

2. In proj.profile include a settlement profile which doesnt settle, and manually change settl.profile (which settle) for each released wbs element (this is extra step when entering settlement rule)

3. Create a variant on CJ8G for released wbs elements.

3d option has smallest amount of manual input (most "automated").

If I (we) don't get more ideas about the issue, then I will stick to 3d option.

or you mean to configure a variant on CJ8G with selections of certain user status ? that's the same as Ahmed said.

what do you mean "user status for prereleased" ? what is common between settlement and user status ?

i can agree that this fits. But this is workaround but not solution ...

so.. looking forward to more suggestions.

Hi,

I agree with Ahmed's suggestion as it seems to be apt and will fulfill your requirement. As far as i know, any other solution will also be a workaround.

Why dont you try using User Status for the prereleased WBS elements and try achieving your requirement. Even this would be a work around.
