ESS custom icon for area page

I want to change the icon for Benefits area page in ESS.

I did a lot of research in the forums but couldnt find one which get me out of this.

1. I tried storing image in KM and referring through relative url. But it didnt work. I know this is reliable approach if resource' server definition dont have to change with every transport. But it didnt work. The url is pointing to pcui_gp~xssutils rather thank taking the path from irj.

2. I saw many threads asking to upload image to com.sap.portal.navigation.mimeservice app. But I dont think this will work after an upgrade.

3. I want to do it by uploading image through SE80 to MIME objects and use it in defining resource. But I dont know how resource' server definition should be and the directory and image should be specified in resource.

Please help me how can I do it through approaches 1 and 3.

Thanks.

    Hi,

Preview the Overview page from content admin tab.

Ctrl+Right click on any Area icon. Now it will display different propertes for that icon.

In Image Source URL property specify the URL path of image

    for eg: https://xxxxx/irj/go/km/docs/documents/ESS/images/personal.jpg

    Click on Apply.

Before doing this make sure you have uploaded all images to KM.

    Regards,

    Shankar.

Hmm this is weird.. just did the same on my test system and able to see them..

I am sure you would have defined a resource server .. with path irj/go/km/docs/documents/<folder>

and then in resource definition.. same server and then just name of logo file and this should do.. dont forget to clear system buffer tx SWU_OBUF (i do it everytime i make changes to in r/3 config, not sure relevant or not.. just hooked to it 😉

and then log off and come back to ESS screen.. worked for me . should work for you as well. Let us know how you go..

    Cheers
