issues during configuration through administrator console

Hi Gurus,

I am doing the configuration of Succession Planning through Administrator Console.

On a position level I need to hide only Evaluation Results (section and button) under TAB: Attributes.

As I can see, there is no possibility to hide this section and button, but only to delete. Am I right? (If I will unmark all fields under Evaluation Results it would not looks nice in NAKISA).

When I am trying to delete Evaluation Results (section and button) than Key Indication (section and button) disappears as well. What I am doing wrong? Or do I need to make changes in the AppResources.xml file directly in case to hide Evaluation Results (section and button)?

Also, on position level under TAB: Attributes there is Career Path(s). I would like to change this text, should I do it in AppResources.xml file directly?

Thanks a lot and have a nice weekend.

P.S. I would be very grateful if you will provide me the answer for my question asap.

Hi Arturss,

What kind of version you have?

You may deletethe Evaluation Results section by Admin Console without touching Key Indication part. Please try it carefully with some back up. I tried it and succeeded.

For the caption of Career Path, you need to change by other way. Simply to change directly in AppResouces.xml won't work. It needs customization.

Hi Wei,

Thanks a lot for your answer.

What kind of version you have?

I am using STVN v2.0.

I was trying to delete the Evaluation Results section without any success. Should I delete in Details Designer? or More Details? Could you please describe this process more detailed? I know that this is very simple and easy, but I do not understand why it does not work for me? I am not touching Key Indication part, but it is disappears somehow.

For the caption of Career Path, you need to change by other way. Simply to change directly in AppResouces.xml won't work. It needs customization.

Could you please describe as well, where do I need to do configuration?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Arturss,

You would do this in the Details Designer. More details will be re-configured based on your main detail configuration.

You should navigate to the Attributes tab and inside there should be 2 or 3 panels or row tables with one or more sections in each (I cannot remember exactly for v2.0). There should be a heading for the panel or row table (I say 'or' because, again, I cannot remember in v2.0 if they use a panel to construct the details panel in these tabs - in 2.1 they don't). If you delete the panel or row table for Evaluation Results you should not see this any more but should still see the Key Indication panel/row table. Is this what happens?

Sometimes the details designer does not always save 100% correctly so you may need to remove it directly in the AppResources.xml file. For me I would always do it in the XML, but this required knowledge of how the XML is structured.

For your second issue you can search within files in the Languages folder to find the language key for the heading. You can then either change this file or copy this language key to custom.xml and make the change there. The application always uses the language key in custom.xml instead of any other reference in the Language files.

I hope that helps!

Hi Luke,

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation on my questions.

Looks like I will need to delete Evaluation Results in the AppResource.xml file directly. I am still not able to delete Evaluation Results section through Administrator Console and to keep Key Indication. As soon as I deleted Evaluation Results, I am going to the next step from Details Designer to More Details and all sections under Tab: Attributes are already disappeared.

According to second issue related to renaming Career Path(s) under TAB: Attributes. I found out "Career Path(s)" under Language\ SAPSRS.xml file. So, if I would like to rename "Career Path(s)" should I do it in SAPSRS.xml file, save it and public. Or do I need to do same changes in AppResources.xml as well?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Arturss,

I don't have a copy of the 2.0 AppResources.xml handy since we de-commissioned those systems after 2.1 was released. You need to locate the Talent details panel configuration (probably something similar to TalentDetailConfiguration) and locate the Presentation detail. If you navigate to the presentation detail configuration you can find the Attributes tab and delete the corresponding section (which is nested inside a cell tag and that inside a row tag - probably best to delete all). If you get stuck let me know.

For the second, just make the change in the SAPSRS.xml file and then reset IIS or publish from the Admin.

Best of luck!

Hi Arturss,

I tried in STVN2.0 (.net version) build. it works fine through Admin Console. I did the following steps.

1- load the Admin Console

2 -navigate to that Chart -> Position -> Details Designer -> Attributes Tab

3- you will see the caption of Evaluation Results and Key indications.

4- make sure there is a Row Table (in light green color caption, circled by dotted line) contains that Evaluation Results section.

5-check, if there is another Row Table (not the same which contains Evaluation Results section) contains that Key Indications section.

6- delete that Row Table which has Evaluation Results inside.

7-if you have ever changed that part in Admin Console, so those two sections are in one Row Table, please add a new Row Table under the current one by click the plus sign under it.

8-Then, you may drug and drop that key indicator sections into the new Row Table and save publish (please make sure after you drup and drop, the sections are still keeping up and down struction, not left and right).

Just need to be careful that you delete only one Row Table.

Wei
