Java Add-In Installation for EHP4 ERP system

Former Member

Hello!

we successfully upgraded our SAP ERP system to EHP4 for SAP.

Our system has only ABAP stack.

Question

1) Is it possible to install a Java Add-In instance for the existing EHP4 system?

2) If yes, can this be done on the same Windows server?

Thank you very much!

SAP's direction has been installing a separate stack for Java and not as an add-in except for certain systems like PI and Sol Man for which they have to be dual stack. I would recommend installing Java stack for ECC on another windows host.

Hope this helps.

Thank you!

My intension is to extend EHP4 system by adding MDM as well Portal functionality.

I do not want to use PI or SOLMAN.

The question still:

Is it possible to install a Java Add-In Instance for existing EHP4 system with ABAP stack?

Thank you!

Specific Requirements

Take the following specific requirements of the new installation process into consideration:

- The previous SAPInst installation service Java Add-In in SAP ERP 6.0/SAP NetWeaver

7.0 was able to add Java usage types such as EPC, or EP, to existing ABAP-only

systems. This was possible only, if you added AS Java at the same time. The option of a

Java Add-In installation is not any longer available as of the enhancement package 4 for

SAP ERP 6.0. Thus, it is not any longer possible, for example, to add EPC and EP

together with AS Java to an ABAP-only system.

There are many links on SDN discussing ERP EHP 4 dual stack:

Hope this helps.

Hi,

The answer to ur query is Yes. But u cannot install Java stack as an add-in as we usually do in case earlier SAP versions, u need to install Java as seperate instance with new SID.

Yes, and if the ABAP server has enough hardware ressources, it is possible to install the JAVA SID on the same host.

Hello!

Thank you very much for your responses?

Questions:

1) Where can I find the Installation DVD's for SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management 7.1?

2) Is it possible to install MDM and EP on the same server with existing EHP4 ERP ABAP stack system?

Thank you!
