Unable to open the Workbook

Hi All

Currently workbook is saved in one of the KM folder under the path of documents->Dashboard->TestWorkbook.XLS.

i created the KM document Iview to access this workbook, while accessing the workbook i am getting the following errors.

1) 'TestWorkbook.XLS' Can not be accessed. The file may be read only or you may be trying to access a read only location Or, the server the document is stored on may not be responding

2) Could not open 'res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm'.

3) C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Local settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\QTMBARWD\pcd!3aportal_content!2fnet.ea.bhm.FlashWS!2fcom.Bhm.DSpage!2fcom.Bhm[3].xls' could not be found .Check the spelling of the filename , and verify that the file location is correct

If you are trying to open the file from your list of most recently used files on the File Menu , make sure that the file has not been renamed ,moved or deleted.

Please let me know what is the rootcause of the above issues while accessing the workbook thru an Iview??

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Kalki Reddy

Which Version of IE do you have installed on your PC?

It should be Internet explorer 6/7.

Check if the MS-Office Software is properly installed on your PC.

And finally, please check if you have appropriate permissions to View the content in KM.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi ,

I hope you are selecting the access link properly from the context menu of TestWorkbook.XLS ->details->settings->Properties .

In the iview property , the path to the document should start from /documents . Also try creating KM Doc iviews for other documents/files and see if there is genuinely an issue .

    Regards

    Hello Kalki,

Please look wether the normal Excel files are opening in the PC in which you are trying to execute the Dcoument IView.

Second thing is see if there are Permissions for the document to the user by which you are trying to access the Excel. Click on the excele properties in KM Content and then in settings menu there is a permssions Link and see if the User has permssions to open the Excel. Normally if the permsiions are not enough then it iwill again ask for authentication but not show you the error.

Third thing is the Path which you have given in the KM Document IView,, the path needs to be started with /folder name in maximum cases it will be /documents/...
