Dear all,
I have one material with MRP setting as follows :-
MRP Type = VB
Reoder point = 1.0
Planning Cycle = blank
Lot size = EX
Max lot size = 0
Max stock level = 0
Now, although there is no reservation and the current stock is zero. The MRP batch job still generate the PR.
MRP parameter :-
Processing key NETCH
Create pur.req. 1
Schedule lines 3
Create MRP list 1
Planning mode 3
Scheduling 1
Question :-
1. What is the right setting for me to configurre.
2. Do I need to delete/reset planning file entries and how ?

Dear Husain,
If the reorder point level is 1 means, for that material you can use the MRP type as PD itself.
Is that a business requirement that strictly you have to use VB - Manual Reorder point planning?
Generally this MRP type is used for for the materials that are planned as per the normal consumption for the bulk materials or say
low cost items. It depends on the business req.once when the stock goes below the reorder point level, during the next MRP run
the system creates the procurement proposal for that material.
Normally this reorder level say you can fix it as 100 or 200 as per the past history or the average consumption.
If you want the system to create planned orders for the same ,check with the MRP control parameter value as 3 - create planned
orders during batch MRP run.
Check this link which you help you to understand in detail,

Dear Mangalraj.S,
Basically, the requirement is to keep very minimum stock if the material is too expensive. So, if there is a reservation generated from the work order, MRP will trigger the PR. Now, since the plan delivery date of the material is 6 months in advance, MRP still generate new PR although the old PR has converted to purchase order.

Dear Husain,
Whether there is any reservation or demand for this particular material, but the sysem will create a PR for this material for 1
quantity as the current stock is zero. This is the standard SAP behaviour for reorder point level fixed materials during MRP run.
Come back with your further queries.

Dear Husain,
Unable to understand exactly your query, based on what i understand
You want MRP should not create ant PR for one particular material
then just make MRP type as ND
