Adding Cost Center update to GLFLEXA and GLFLEXT tables

Our client is in development and is considering including the cost center update to the ECC GLFLEXA and GLFLEXT tables. Presently, they are considering the profit center and cost of sales accounting(FA) scenarios .

Before we add the cost center scenario to the tables, I was wondering if anyone has encountered any problems via doing so. I understand that the summary table may greatly expand . But, has anyone encountered any performance issues or other problems via doing so.

Hi,

For sure, there will be hit in the performance. FLEXA/FLEXT table will expand at a very high rate, as number of cost centers will be huge. This will have a greater impact in all the standard transactions that uses these total table like FAGLB03 etc.

The question is really why your Client would like to activate scenario FIN_CCA (Cost Center) in your main (or parallel ledger)?. it is not enough with Cost Center Accounting? What requirement is driving this proposal?. This is not very common, of course you will also have sizing issues in FAGLFLEXT if you activate Cost Center Update scenario, most likely.
