On 8/26/2010 I purchased SAP Crystal Reports Dashboard Design, full product (formerly known as Visual Advantage) . I was able to install the software without any issues. I then installed service pack 3 for my software. After installing SP3 I began experiencing issues with some of my features in the software. I read on the SAP site that some customers had to reinstall SP3 to correct the issue, so I did. After attempting to reinstall SP3 it told me it need to uninstall my product, after this happened I can no longer access the software I just purchased because my key code doesnu2019t work anymore. Can someone please help!
What version of Windows are you installing on?
First, try finding the xcelsius.exe in your Program Files folder. Right click on it and choose "run as administrator." This is to ensure that full admin rights are used since its necessary to have full rights in order for the keycode to be written into the registry.
If that doesn't work, check the registry permission settings in the folder that stores the keycode. The following thread has more information regarding this: [Click here.|;
If you've tried the above and everything suggested in the link, then check to see that your keydecoder.dll is current. Usually it is found in C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86. Right click on the file and go to properties to see the version. My installation has a version of 12.2.0.290.

What exactly is the error you recieve when attempting to enter it into Xcelsius?
Try going back to the registry path where the keycode is stored. Then go to the registry key of the keycode and "modify" it. In the dialog to modify the key, simply delete the keycode that is entered there so its blank. Run Xcelsius again and enter the keycode, which should re-write itself back into the registry. Did that make a difference?
As a last resort you can try uninstalling again. This time, before re-installing Xcelsius, delete the xcelsius folder in the following registry path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > BusinessObjects > Suite 12.0 > "Xcelsius"
If all else fails, we can try testing the keycode to ensure that it is valid for the SP3 installation. Just send me a direct email with those details.

Yes, you should be able install SP3. However, I want to point out that Xcelsius 2008 SP3 is a full build installation of the program and is not a patch update to your existing version of 2008. Therefore, I'd recommend uninstalling your current version of Xcelsius 2008 completely before installing SP3. Also, what "features" were you looking for? Note that some features are based on the type of license that was purchased. For instance, an enterprise license will unlock many of the data connectors which integrate with Business Objects and SAP BW.

Jon
