settlement of WBS to receiver cost element and cost centre (COBL)

Dear readers,

I am trying to set up a settlement rule for a WBS element to a receiver category G/L and assign a cost element to it. In the settlement rule details (double click the rule), I can set up a cost centre (COBL-KOSTL) under 'settlement receiver' however system does not seem to pick up this cost centre when running the settlement program CJ88. It requires a cost centre assigned and although OKB9 is a work around to get a cost centre assigned, user wants to determine the receiver cost centre (along with the cost element) at the level of WBS. Any idea why this receiver cost centre is not picked up from the settlement rule details?

Many thanks, Stefaan.

Hi Stefaan,

Please check whether the problem can be solved after apply note 483340.
After apply this note, you can choose settlement category to be 'G/L' and input cost center in the details of the settlement rule.

Best regards,
Miya

Thanks Ratna - indeed, this settles to the CTR and that works okay. Now, the cost element it would be using is either primary or secondary, depending on the settlement profile, allocation structure indeed, pretty much fixed upfront and this is not what I'm after. We need both the cost element and cost centre to be selectable by user at the time of setting up the settlement rule of the WBS. The cost element can be set by putting a cost element in the settlement rule and choosing settlement category to be 'G/L'. When double clicking the settlement rule, there are additional cost objects you can add as the settlement receiver, such as the cost centre (and profit centre, plant, material, typically your COBL...), however when running the settlement CJ88, it does not pick up any of these additional cost objects. In fact, it errors, saying there is no cost object object assigned to the cost element and the only way around this seems to be OKB9, it is basically ignoring the additional settlement receiver objects. OKB9 is fixed and therefore not suitable.

Thanks, Stefaan.

Hi Stefaan,

You have to enter settlement rule in WBS element. settlement receiver category select "CTR" and enter cost center in next field.so when you execute CJ88,costs are settled to cost center automatically.

but before this, you have to complete all required configuration like settlement profile, allocation structure etc

Thanks,
