Hi,

Can anybody tell me, how would I run buffer for PM notification number range? what is the object code and it's description for notification number range available in T-code SNRO

My client requirement is to maintain synchronous numbers of order with automatic creation of notification with it. I have been run SNRO for order object code AUFTRAG and notification object code DNO_NOTIF by setting No. of numbers in buffer field to 0. After this the order numbers are coming linearly without any jump whereas, notification number has been changed and jumped from 100000015 to 100000019.

Regards,

Hello,

First of all this is not recomanded and also it will run smoothly initilay but after some days it will leads to conflict of number range.

Why is this an issue?

I seem to remember SAP does not recommend changing the buffer settings (maybe its in an OSS Note somewhere)...

Hi,

Thanks for quick response, can you please only tell me how could I set number range/buffer for notification, so that, the system must create notification number linearly without any jump?

My objection is that if it is working on order and maintenance plan no. then there should not be any issue for notification number.

Thanks.

Why must you have linear numbering?

Number range buffering info: [OSS Note 62077|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/62077]

The numbers may be skipped if the notification type has been assigned to "Early No allocation" in the notification type config.

They can also be skipped if without Early No allocation

I've noticed this sometimes happen when you are batch creating notifications/orders

Even with "Main Memory buffering" being switched of and No of Numbers in buffer being set to 0?
