the interface IF_WD_VIEW_CONTROLLER - does contain a "REQUEST_FOCUS" method, but unfortunately as far as I know (I may be wrong and I'd certainly invite others to comment) there is no "GET_FOCUS" type method.
I could see how it could be implemented, but I don't think it currently is.
