Crystal 2008 CD Key

I apologize for posting this here - but this is where the SAP Support desk told me to post it.

I bought Crystal 2008 online a couple of months ago (order no. 4265672911). The box had several sheets in different languages. The english one had the CD key on it. I can't find it and can't activate/install my Crystal version without it.

The Business Objects Online store could not help and directed me to the www.businessobjects.com/support site. I sent a message to the support email box and received no response. I called the 800 number for support and they told me to post a message to the Crystal forum.

Bob, with apologies, you certainly are getting quite a run around. The forums most certainly are the wrong place for this. You need the keycode and even if I could give one out to you, I would not over the forums. That is private and individual information which should never be shared with anyone. As a matter of fact, occassionally I see people posting keycode into the forum for what ever reason and I delete the keycode as soon as I can. Call either Customer Interaction Center (866-890-7686) or Sales (866-681-3435) and that should be the end of your runaround.

If you run into issues there, let me know and I'll get this resolved for you one way or another.

Thank you very, very much for your reply.

I called the first number that you recommended. A very nice lady said that she could not help me but gave me another number to call Sales (866-776-6567).

I called that number and spoke with "Kevin." Kevin informed me that since the box was sent to me, it was my responsibility to keep the keycode and since I lost it, I am "out of luck. That's about all I can tell you."

I told him I had the order number, the CD, the invoice from digital river and he said, "There's nothing we can do for you."

I'm hoping that's not the extent of SAP's customer service and that you can perhaps steer me someplace else. This is my second full copy of Crystal after having used it inside of VB for years and years. As much as I like it, if that's the SAP customer experience, I sure won't have a problem learning to like something else.

Hello Bob:

Asking around re. this issue, I am told that if you have the confirmation email from Digital River, the keycode should be in that email. If you do not have the email or the keycode is not there, but you have the order number, try to contact Digital River as through the order number they should be able to link to the keycode. I don't normally deal with registration issues, so I have no idea on how to contact DR. If you are not able to fins out contact info for DR, perhaps Kevin or CIC will be able to help you out.

Thanks for you help.

I started all of this with Digital River - and they were the ones that directed me to the SAP customer support and then the merry-go-round began.

When I ordered this software, I asked for the USMail - not th download version. I've lost download stuff before and then I have no recourse. Digital River said they couldn't help. SAP support didn't reply to email. SAP Phone support directed me to the Forums. You pointed me to sales. And now it appears I'm out of luck.
