Crystal 2008 support for GIF files

As I understand currently Crystal 2008 does not support GIF files. We have a need to show dynamic GIF thumbnails based on certain logic. I am able to do this using jpg, png etc. but not GIF.

I have scanned the forum and googled enough and looks like its simply not supported. I don't have an option to convert GIF's to JPG'S so basically as a I understand it can not be done (find it bit strange as this is a pretty basic web format).

In any case does any one knows - if Crystal plans to support GIF in the future?

We use Crystal 2008 and Edge 3.1 (Linux).
