Hi,

GL account is not assigned to cost center, whereas cost center is assigned to the GL account. Check setting in OKB9.

Hi,

Organization unit linked to profit center and cost center is controlling area.

Which is linked to company code.

GL accounts are defined under chart of accounts which is linked to your company code.

Thanks!

Cost centers are defined as per the requirement of your company. Basically these are to capture the costs department wise.

While posting the documnet you can assign any cost center to your expense GL accounts. Profit center is derived through cost center.

Dear,

Macro M.

GL accounts are created and treated as cost element which is CO object which we have to assign a cost center or any CO Object at the time of any transation entry. Cost Elements area created from GL account and since Cost Elements are defined at Chart of accounts.

Cost Centers are created at Controlling area level , Company Code is mandatory field in Cost Center. So that user can understand that which cost center is belongs to indentical company code.

Profit center is assigned in Cost Center. Created with definition of Controlling Area.

I hope this helps you to understand logic. If you have any doubts feel free to share.
