What is BOM explosion number and how it is used?

Dear

By means of the BOM explosion number, you can define a common explosion date (fixed key date) for all BOM levels. BOM explosion is then carried out with this fixed key date for all levels.If you do not use the assignment of a BOM explosion number, the order start date of the planned order is always used as the explosion date for the BOM. The system explodes the BOM that is valid on this date.

You can create BOM explosion Number with Fixed Date or with out fixed date.

The BOM explosion number is transferred to the planned order of the finished product or of the main assembly during the planning run and copied to the planned orders for the main assemblies on all BOM levels when determining dependent requirements.

If you want an individual assembly within the BOM structure to be exploded with a different date, you can assign a new key to the BOM explosion number, that is, assign a different BOM explosion number to the main assembly

In MDSP u can maintain the BOM explosion number and MDSA U CAN display the number.Here u can assing the Fixed date,key etc

Hi,

) To access the 'Maintain BOM Explosion Numbers' screen, type 'MDSP' in the command line field, and press ENTER.

2) Complete the 'Maximum number' field, and click 'Execute'. (The 'Maintain BOM Explosion Numbers' screen appears.)

3) Click 'New entries'. (The 'Maintain BOM Explosion Number: Create' screen appears.)

4) Complete the following fields:

a) 'BOMexpNo'

b) 'Fixed key date'

c) 'Plnt'

d) 'Material'

e) 'Status'

5) Click 'Save'.

Hello,

Use of bom exp. no is :

1) The fixed key date determines which bill of material is exploded.

2) You can also specify a BOM explosion number for a specific plant. Enter the appropriate plant in this case.

3) You can specify a BOM explosion number for a specific material. Enter the appropriate material in this case
