Is there somewhere info about how to handle upgrades op de B1 installation ( 2007 to 8.8 ). Imagine a customer with SBO 2007 IC flows set up and is planning to go to SBO 8.8. Do I have to renew all BIUs ?

Thanks.

If in a landscape a B1 instance is upgraded to a new major version ( 2004 --> 2005 --> 2007 --> 8.8 ), it is required to adapt the BIU ( or create new ones ) so they address the correct systypes and object types.

You are right - you will need to create new BIUMETA for the 8.8 systems and change the xsl documents where it searches for ObjecTypeID that contanis B1.2007. I usualy change the condition to have ObjectRole = 'S'. since there is only one sender. This way the sender Object type is not affecting the xsls.

Kris,

I am not sure what you mean when you say, "Imagine a customer with SBO 2007 IC flows set up", when you say "IC" do you mean integration content? If you have custom BIU's created, then they should upgrade fine into B1iSN 8.8. If you have customized existing BIU's and the names are the same for XML and XSLT ... then the upgrade may overwrite them and they would need to be re-created. You would want to test the upgrade either way on a sand-box system. Also, B1iSN 8.8 is currently in ramp-up and to get it you need to be nominated.

Hi Eddy,

By IC I mean an InterCompany flow.

now the customer has a sbo 2007 running. In the xsls the object types ( and sys types ) are something like B1.2007.

In the near future the customer will want to upgrade to SBO 8.8 so my question is : Do I need to change the files of the BIU so they address B1.8.8 objects, when that upgrade is planned ?

Kind regards.

Kris
