Dear gurus,
we would like to copy our BW (NW 7.0 EHP1 system, Abap+Java) with Sapinst system copy procedure. Source system is a Windows MSCS environment with Oracle 10.2.0.4. For dabase export we use backup/restore specific tools. We try to use Sapinst in source system for the export of Java file system resources, so we use "central instance export" from "High-availability system/Based on As Abap and As Java" folder. We start Sapinst with "sapinst.exe SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME=<virtualhost_of_CI>". But:
- we don't get option for "use database specific tools"
- Sapinst only require profile directory and export location
- In phase "execution service" we get only 3 steps: "central instance export", "update system dlls", "prepare to export java"
- Sapinst ends with no error and in the export location we have only subdir Java with 3 files (LABEL.ASC, LABELIDX.ASC, SOURCE.PROPERTIES).
Any idea?
Best regards
Hi Vyctor,
Please preceed as the following:
1.- On the source system =>
Run SAPinst to create an export of the Java
central instance by choosing the following installation service on the
Welcome screen:
SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Release 2
Additional Software Life-Cycle Tasks
System Copy
Oracle
Source System
<System Variant>
Based on AS ABAP and AS Java
For a central system choose "Database and Central Instance Export".
On the SAPinst screen SAP System Database Export, make sure to select
"Use database specific tools" for the system copy method.
This step might not be clear enough in the system copy guide for oracle
specific procedure but it has to be done.
2.- Generating the Control File Structure with the OraBRCopy tool
3.- If needed creating an Offline Backup
4.- On the target system =>
Run sapinst to install the target system as follows :
SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Release 2
Additional Software Life-Cycle Tasks System Copy
Oracle
Target System
<Central System Distributed System High-Availability System>
Based on AS ABAP and AS Java
Same as in step 1, please make sure you select Homogeneous System Copy
(Backup/Restore) when SAPinst prompts for the installation type.
Then continue with the installation until SAPinst stops to restore thed
atabase files on the target system.
For details about the system copy, pleaes refer to the system copy guide which can be found in
service.sap.com/instguides->SAP Business Suite Applications->SAP ERP ->SAP ERP 6.0 ->Installation.
With Best Regards
Julia
