Explosion date outside of (PDS) validity period

Hi Everybody,

I am encountering a CIF error log u201CExplosion date dd/mm/yyyy outside the validity date of PDS yyyy/mm/dd/tt to yyyy1/mm1/dd1/tt2.

The main error msg is u201COrdertype 1 OrderNo XXXXXX ItemNo 099999 SchedNo 000.

When multiple versions of PDS exist, why isnu2019t a valid PDS picked (there exist) for explosion. Sorry.. my ignorance of PPDS is encyclopedic as of now so you may need to elaborate. Additional information? , please let me know. I can browse and confirm.

Regards,

Loknath

Hi,

The explosion date for any order in R3 is determined by setting in MRP Group and Definitions in the Plant Parameters.

Explosion by Order start date or by Order finish date.

The Reason why you are getting this error message could be due to since PDS is valid on the Orders start date but is invalid on the Order finish date.

You can change the defined settings in R3 and try to push these orders.

Thanks,

Thanks Nanda,

That is more or less correct reason at my end. So next question is.. if this is happening too frequently (CIF errors of planned orders) what is fundamentally wrong in master data maintenance of production versions, explosion date etc ?. Why are production versions that were the supply source in APO, gets locked in ECC automatically (this is observed). Well there would be enough history around this phenomenon and I may not be fully aware but then something very normal in PPDS scheme of things is not quite right. I have no patience to learn abcd's of PPDS now but any additonal generic pointers/conceptual statements/thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks once again for the quick reassurance.
