Hi,
I am using Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2 for which we have an ETL in place using Oracle PL SQL 11g and used the Oracle CDC for ETLing further changes from source data base.
Reading the documents for BO Data Federator, seems like we can capture data in real time.
Does the Data Federator replace ETL completely?
What are the advantages of Federator over ETL and incremental ETL?
Any response is greatly appreciated.

In theory Data Federator could be used to replace the data warehouse.
There are certain limitations like:
- The query is still executed against one or more source systems
- It's not possible to capture history data
- Query performance will be good but not nearly as good as a data warehouse.
