Hiding options in "New" button in InfoView

Hello,

I'm currently running BOE XI r2 (SP3) and am wondering it its possible to hide some options in the "New" button in InfoView? I looked in the CMC and can't find any rights to hide the "OLAP Intelligence", "Publication", "Crystal Reports", "Hyperlink" or "Local Document..." options? I don't want users to see these on our test environment.

I do not have R2 installed so am not sure if it will work on it but in R3 you can achieve the task for Publications, Crystal, and Hyperlinks through the following manner:

Log in to the CMC and on the Folder, click Manage > Top-Level Security > All Folder. Select Everyone and then click Assign Security. Goto Advanced tab and click Add/Remove Rights link. On the left expand the Content and select Hyperlink. For the property "Add Objects to the Folder" check Overrise General Global and also deny it. Repeat the same for Crystal and Publication.

Note: If you do not want to do it for Everyone then select the relevant group initially.

R2 doesn't have anything like that, is it possible outside of commenting the things out in the ASP/JSP file?

What is your inheritance set to in SP3?

Your solution works on Public Folder, but not on "My Favourites". I'd like to limit there and only have my users have the ability to create new webi reports in their "my favourites folders"

Any suggestions?

Yes, there is a way. Take a look at the following post:

Remember one thing though, opting to go this way will disable it for all the users.
