Exclude enrollment in a benefit plan if already enrolled in another plan

Is there a way to prevent enrollment in one plan if you are enrolled in another plan. In our case, if the teammate enrolls in a health savings account plan (savings plan) we would like to prevent enrollment in a medical spending account plan (miscellaneous plan). I have used corequisite/prerequiste before to set up requirements to be enrolled in one plan before enrolling in another plan but have not found a way to prevent enrollment in a plan if enrolled in another plan.

Thanks

implementing user exit PBEN0012

can be one of the easy solutions

we are doing open enrollment via the SAP standard benefit enrollment services via Employee Self Service. It is my understanding that the user exits do not work via Employment Self Service.

Flex Spending Account checking logic in ESS is done through SAP function 'HR_BEN_ESS_CHECK_FSA_CONTRIB'. You could probably create an enhancement point at the end of this function to add logic to check whether the other FSA plan already exists and produce an error instead.

So it looks like the only way to do this is via the user exits and not through config.

our spending accounts were set up as miscellaneous plans, is there a corresponding function to 'HR_BEN_ESS_CHECK_FSA_CONTRIB' for miscellaneous plans?

Since you set this up as miscelaneous plan, the plan could either be a cost/credit plan or a contribution plan. I would think this is contribution plan as it's spending account. If this is the case, SAP function 'HR_BEN_ESS_CHECK_CONTRIB' is used.

After playing around with the PBEN.... enhancements they do in fact work through the enrollment services in Employee Self Service. Since we se up the spending account as a miscellaneous plan enhancement PBEN0028 was used since this is used to calculate EE contribution for savings, miscellaneous and stock purchase plans.
