OK, you have an application - how much is it?

I think itu2019s time to come down to earth on a very important point: cost!

If customers donu2019t like the price they will not buy.

The consumer mobile app pricing model that we are all familiar is low price / high volume, with a few premium applications costing more. Enterprise app volumes are not going to reach this level so we can expect the unit price to be higher, but how high?

I recently heard a licensing quote for (only a part) of a SAP mobile application that caused my jaw to drop. It would have probably cost half of what it would cost me to run an iPhone on contract u2013 sorry, but I donu2019t want an app that costs several hundred pounds to run per device.

That price point would make it a non-starter for any SME penetration ( SME is a sore point for SAP, now you can see why) and even large enterprises may baulk at that.

Iu2019d like to think that the final pricing will be a lot lower (especially for the component in question) otherwise there could be a lot of embarrassed faces when the first quarter sales are published.

As a customer, how much would be expecting to pay per app per device? Obviously it depends on
