Characteristics in Classification in Relaese Strategy

Hi All,

I am facing a scenario where I have assigned 2 different characteristics in the same class for Release of external purchase documents. I assigned a characteristic based on net price i.e. the field "GNETW" & another characteristic based on the document type "BSART "field. In the document type characteristic I have mentioned all the document types of RFQ.

Now the issue is that the system is working fine for PO release strategy but it is not working for RFQ. Can anyone suggest the way which allows the system to trigger release for both PO & RFQ based on the characteristic I have defined.

Thanks.

    • Hi,

      As your requirement & need to differentiate you are able to use purchasing document category A / F for RFQ /PO. If you want or your business needs , you can create a new release characteristics for document type and add this document type characteristics to the release class. During designing the release strategies for RFQ/PO , you can keep different values for different release strategies as per your requirement in classification segment.

    If you assign GNETW as one of your characteristics and you maintained its value greater than equal to zero than your RFQ release will not work. It is because SAPu2019s design for RFQ release.

    I was opened a ticket to SAP and they have given the below answer;

    u201CSince RFQ is just a Request for Quotation, it does not make sense to set the release strategy of RFQ according to value change. You could assign 0 values to characteristic GNETW for RFQ document type. Please assign GNETW as 0 values.

    The release strategy is determined when you create a RFQ in transaction ME41. In ME41 there is no price, so that CEKKO-GNETW can't be used here. The price is determined in ME47, but in ME47 there is no determination of the release strategy. So you will have to set net value as 0".

    Hope this helps

    Regards

    Thank you all for ur response. My issue has been solved.

    I defined different release strategies for RFQ & PO.The strategies in which I wanted release to be triggered for PO the relevant value was put in GNETW characteristics & the BSART field was left blank.The strategy in which I the wanted to work for RFQ the GNETW characteristics was left blank & the BSART characteristics was filled with the required document type. It is now working fine for both the documents.

    Thanks
