CL_GUI_ALV_GRID getting rid of edit settings

Hi guys,

i have an alv which has some editable fields. after an certain event the alv should not be editable anymore. so i loop over the fieldcat and set edit = 0.

I also call methode: refresh_table_display( ) ... But the ALV still remains editable...

When i destroy the dynpro container and the alv and clear the fieldcat, and build up everything again, it works pretty fine. is this the only solution??????????????
