When i am trying to edit specification data for a substance I am not finding any values in value assignments under danger goods regulations. Already run Set Up Table-Based Value Assignment, and assign the manually in the Set Up Table-Based Value Assignment the the value assigment SAP_EHS_1022_024 and the object SAP_EHS_1022_024_LWDG. Do i need to do anything else?

What I am I missing ?

Many thanks

Hello Armani

the DG properties are "special" in EH&S. You need to prepare further customizing to use these properties. This is DG customizing.

Take a look here: http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/de/5174db4c4b11d18a110000e816ae6e/frameset.htm

to understand the DG data model in EH&S.

In most cases this is the "process" used by many companies:

prepare data in an object which is calls LS_UN_SUB.

Then prepare a new object which is called DG_CL_SUB which is using data from LS_Un_SUB

And then create a reference betweeen REAL_SUZ and DG_CL_SUB to maintain the most important DG data. In addition you need to take care of preparinmg DG Hazard inducers etc.

IN doing so you need to prepare the DG customizing etc.

Please take a look on the "bets practises of Chemicals". I this guidelines (which are available on SAP marketplace) the DG process (customizing etc.) is explained in detail etc.

With best regards

C.B.

Hello Armani,

"Set up table based value assignment" fills the standard tables and matches the data fields. For enabling the data field with values, you need to perform master data match-up (cgcz) and also do "phase set to attribute asignments" (cgab).

Please check whether this solves your problem.

Pavan

Hello Armani,

Firstly, SAP_EHS_1022_024_LWDG is the charactetisitcs defined under class: SAP_EHS_1022_024 (Dangerous Goods Regulations).

As far as my knowledge goes, the characteristics defined under the property Dangerous Goods Regulations (class: SAP_EHS_1022_024), are not phrase enabled, so as Pavan rightly said, to be able to enter values for the characteristics, you need to delete the entries agianst this characteristic SAP_EHS_1022_024_LWDG in Edit Phrase set to characteristics assignement (CGAB). This will allow you to maintain value for the characteristics in Edit specification work bench.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Niraj

Hi

I am migrating classes and characteristics from one SAP system to another. But the EHS classes and characteristics I cant migrate because they are SAP ones with a 9.. series internal number. So I assume they are copied in from client 000 via some SPRO command or transaction. Can any one advise how I can do this?

Thanks

John

Hi John,

For standard EHS classes and characteristics.

Environment, Health & Safety -> Basic Data and Tools -> Specification Management -> Specification Database Structure -> Settings for Value Assignment -> Adopt Standard Specification Database Structure, or transaction CGB7.

For customer classes and characteristics.

You can export the property from Environment, Health & Safety -> Basic Data and Tools -> Specification Management -> Specification Database Structure -> Settings for Value Assignment -> Set Up Property Trees and import it.

Please, for a new question open a new thread.

Regards.
