Showing correct currency in PLD

Hi Experts

I am using variables to show the total, discount, VAT and grand total on my purchase orders in PLD. I don't seem to be able to find a way of making the system show the correct currency when a PO is either USD or GBP. How can I make it show only the currency of the PO document?

Thanks

Jon Yen

Hi Johnny,

I had to update our PLD templates with the same... what is your LC? I had "fun" getting the right variable numbers but they include the currency. Our LC is Cdn so default is "$" on documents; all other currencies show the currency code (USD, EURO) with the amount. I didn't need any conditional formatting.

What are the variables you are using?

Hi Julie

Do you mean link the GBP and USD fields to each other (i.e. Liink F_800 to F801 and vice versa) or do you mean link each field to itself?

Thanks

The system layout uses variable no 108 for the doc total & this seems to resolve itself for either LC or FC values. Does that help?

The variable numbers are different for LC values and FC values. Check the system layout which will show you which system variable numbers to use, and how to use conditional formaqtting to hide the one not required

Hi Gordon and Julie

Thanks for the responses. I have spent a couple of days on this now, but any conditional formatting I try either doesnt seem to work (i.e. has no effect on the output) or is in correct when I try to create it. In Excel for example I could easily write this formula but in the formula editor in SAP I only have a very limited amount of functions.

What would you suggest using in conditional format to create the desired output?

Thanks

It is not very convenient indeed. If you have 3 currencies to show, you need minimum 6 additional fields. If more than 3, it may not be practicable.

I think it must have something to do with the BP Currency field? I created a total of 4 fields and used one as invisible to create a Y or N to whether the BP Currency was USD or GBP. Based on this I have tried to base a couple of conditional formats on this field but neither work. Now I don't know how else to proceed.

Have you reviewed the system provided layout? Does it do what you want it to do? If so, you can review the variable numbers & links in the layout designer.

If you check the actual documents with the View>System Information turned on, When you hover over the fields you will see that the variable number in the fields is different depending on the currency of the document. These varibles concatenate the currency symbol with the field value

If you add the different variable numbers one on top of the other & use the link field to link them to themselves, then they will not display if they are blank.

I think this is the method I have used, but will check my customers layouts & repost if not.

Hi Jon Yen,

You need Conditional Formula for this. Search forum first to get familiar with this concept.

Thanks,
