PTax deduction & retro

Former Member

Hi All,

I am facing 2 problems in case of PTax deduction.

1. One person was in ptax state for july. In july actual ptax deducted Rs. 80/-. In Aug he got trasfer from that state to non ptax state with effect from July. Now in Aug payroll run /ZPB is forming in retro result where forperiod = 04.2010 and inperiod = 05.2010. But in Aug actual result (where forperiod = 05.2010 and inperiod = 05.2010) that wage type is not availble so i m getting mis match in Gross-Deduction=Netpay. It is getting added with Netpay. Netpay is 80 rs. more from Gross-Deduction.

2. Is there any PTax exemption for physically handicapped employees?

Please give ur expert comments.

Regards,

Check the rules IN43 and IN44 ...what are the PTax related wagetypes you have added to theses rules..like /ZPB ,/AP1 and /Zp1 etc...

Let us know what are the WTs generated related to Ptax in period and For period....

Hi,

Wage types generated, forperiod = 04.2010, inperiod = 05.4010

/3P1 no amount

/3P2 some basis

/ZPB 80

/551 80-

/553 80-

forperiod = inperiod = 05.4010

no PTax related wage types generated

/552 80

so my netpay is matching with Gross-Deduction.

Hi Sujith,

Thanks for your reply. But I have gone through all these documents. I have understood how retro PTax is getting calculated. My question is how I will give the effect of that in payslip.

Is there any other state where PTax exemption is applicable for handicapped employees? Where can I get that state list. For the employees of those state do I need to maintain any master data or system will automatically take care of it?

HI,

Since your payroll has run with retro effect, WT /ZPB wage type is generated. Please check your payroll log /ZPB will be generated in your previous month and will not reflect in current log. So you need to populate the wage type in current results which will be reflected in your salary slip and the difference of Rs.80/- will be rectified.

You need add the WT /ZPB in rule IN43 & IN44 you need to add the value of WT /ZPB in /ZP1.

In case of handicapped employees, they are exempted from deduction of PTAX if they provide the necessary certificate and in SAP you can update IT-0004 (Challenge).

Add that particular wage type in payslip /ZPB , consult your abaper

THE CALCULATION IS DONE THROUGH PCR IN43

/ZPB CAN SEE AS /3P1 [ORT] BROUGHT FRORWARD

EXEMPTION ON PTAX IS APPLICABLE IN SOME SATES Eg: (DUMB,DEAF AND BLIND EMPLOYEES OR PEOPLE HAVING AN AGE ABOVE 60). YOU HAVE TO REFER STATE RULES REGARDING PTAX

HI Nilesh,

I have added /ZPB in IN44 (ELIMI * ADDWTE/ZPR). But still my netpay is not matching. Its 160 rs. more now from gross-deduction. Earlier it was 80 rs more.

HI,

Please check PE51 deduction window were WT /ZP1 is added. The mathematical symbol should be (-).

It should be ADDWTE/ZP1 and IN43 also needs to be updated with ADDWTD/ZPB. The same thing is working fine in our case.

Follow as said by Nilesh and you need to add IN43 and IN44 ..both rules

IN43:

/ZPB

ELIMI *

ADDWTD/ZPB

IN44:

/AP1

ELIMI *

ADDWTE/ZP1

/ZPB

ELIMI *

ADDWTE/ZP1

Same /ZP1 add to payslip...

Due to retro during that period system revise the Ptax basis and in retro his Ptax bais is changed, in the previous run collect more from the employee and through /ZPB system trying to refund it

yes there is exemption
