Installing BOE XI 3.1 on AIX 5.3 platform

Hi

I'm trying to install BOE XI 3.1 on a AIX 5.3 platform and get the following error message:

/usr/WAS/testing/setup/patches/patchlevel.sh: invalid patch name: unsupported.aix.release

Is Aix 5.3 supported with BOE XI 3.1? if not is there a workaround?

Check if your AIX version is listed in available in Product Availability report of XI 3.1.If it is listed check if patches listed for AIX in product availability report of XI 3.1 is available in your machine.

I don't remember product availability report guides in service market place but you can find product availability report guides with in SAP Service market place.

According to the "BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 for AIX Supported Platforms" it only supports AIX 5L 5.2 and AIX 5L 5.3.

We are running AIX 6.x

My problem is though that the system we need to set up must be the same as the prod envirnonment which is BOE 3.1.

Is there by any chanche possible to set up BOE 3.1 on AIX 6.x?

We tried to come around the error messages by creating a manual pathc for aix 6.1 and run install.sh but get these error messages

Answer is no but may be you can expect support in future releases of BO.Else log a ticket with sap support to know availability of support for AIX 6.x in future service packs of BO 3.1.

According to PAM

"AIX 6.1 is a new platform support addition in Service Pack 3 which is only available for support on the SP3 full release install of SAP Business Objects Enterprise. The SP3 patch only release of SAP Business Objects Enterprise does not provide support for this new platform"

I have used XI 3.1 SP3 on AIX 6.1

just read the PAR document and follow it:

Minimum Patch Level for AIX 6.1

Required minimum operating system install for AIX 6.1 plus:

 Technology Level 2 SP1

 IBM C++ Runtime Environnent Components for AIX => xlC.aix61.rte:10.1.0.0

Looks Like the patches required for AIX are not installed

Please check what should be the patch level of AIX to install BO on that .........

You can open OSS message with SAP for that
