I want to chage 01 with different name, can I change?

I believe we dont change or modify any standard SAP config or settings.. can I know why? is there any specific reason not to change or modify? any technical issue say while upgradation of any pathces or something like that?

Change in standard thing means we are deviating from standars.if we change standard one then we will not have any refrence so if any you need it ...you cannt find original.

Daily life example for concept - simple daily routine example we use Xerox of our degree certificates.we never submitt original any where.

so, SAP always suggest we shuld always have standard & copy it for any alteration.

Hi Abhijit,

The general practice is to copy the sap Standard like say 01 Distribution channel to something of your own say ZA and then maintain your settings in this.

One of the main reasons is that SAP has given these as standards for reference purpose and any changes in this would mena that you are left with no data to refer back to.

Hope this helps,

Hi,

Dont do changes in standard configuration it is not recommonded by SAP

if you want to do copy it.

if you did any changes in standard , at the time of upgradtion of the system after some time

the new standard will get overwrite on your old one which might create problem in future for the transaction.

so to avoid it always copy standard and do changes as per your business scenario.

thanks,

Rahul

Not changing the original element (technically) is only to have a good standard element as provided by SAP for any future reference. If you need to use it as it is, then all means we can use it. If we want to use it with a modification (technically), normally it is recommended to copy it and create our own element.

Now to change only the description part would not be that problematic, so go ahead and change the name and enjoy SAP.
