Hi there!

Got a question. I need to be able to create users in Microsoft Active Directory with the CN component in Lastname, Firstname format.

Anyone done this?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt,

I think this is a bug in the To LDAP pass. AD can manage CNs with commas in it. And you can load these CNs into SAP IDM and you can even modify User objects with such CNs in AD. Only the creation seems to fail.

This is a bug in SAP IDM and I think you should open a support call to get this fixed by SAP.

Best regards

Holger

Holger, Don't know about a bug. I will check. I'm in the process of upgrading to SP5 now and will check when that is done.

Achim, I did not implement any changs since I am just running a sandbox locally. The development server I'm working on does support this.

Hi Matt,

have you tried it with a '\' in front of the ','?

Otherwise the ',' is used as a separator for CN/OU and so on.

Kind regards,

Achim

Achim,

Thanks, but I was aware of that.

Actually after some further research it seems that an adjustment needs to be made ot Active Directory to support using the escape character in the first place.

Thanks for thinking of me though!
