Datasource Changes affect other system load?

Hi,

I have a BW system say BW01 connected to source system SS01.

Now i need to connect another BW system BW02 to Source system SS01 and use the standard datasource.

If a change to datasource for any new requirement (Say addition of fields etc ),whether it would affect the existing connection?

If yes how?

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

I don't think it will effect the existing system. The changes you do at new BW system will be applicable to that system only. For example, If you have a Dev system and QA system, the changes will not be applicable to QA system unless you transport the same.

But if you change the data source at R/3 side and replicate it to old system then those changes will effected.

Hope this helps......

no.

when you change the datasource. then you get already a change.

=> you get the message: "please replicate the datasource." and the reqest get a red light.

Yes, Since SS1 is feeding to BW1/2

For any change in structure to the DS in SS1 will effect BW systems which are connected to it

If you do not replicate the DS to BW systems , you will get stamp stamp issues for the transfer structure
