Hi there,
I am currently doing research on Digital Personnel File (DPF) for the purpose of archiving personnel file. However, I got confuse between DPF and data archiving. What is the difference between DPF and data archiving? Seems to me that both serves the same purpose, but DPF is accessed via Portal (through HR Administrator role) and data archiving is done via back end (SAP ERP).
Is my understanding correct? Would really appreciate it if somebody can enlighten me.
Thanks!
Regards,
Azlina
A digital personnel file is a conglomeration of all employee information currently available in the production system for display.
Archiving of data means moving obsolete data from the production system to an archive storage box. Once data is archived, it will not be picked up by data-accessing programs, such as the digital personnel file.
