GRC CUP 5.3 - Number Ranges

Former Member

GRC CUP 5.3 is in Production. When CUP was originally configured the number range for request numbers was set from 1 to 999999. We have attempted to create a new number range and deactivate the old range with no success. Can the number range be changed so that future requests will start in a new number sequence rather than following the current sequence?

Just to further clairify the previous notes:

1) You go to Configuration, Number Ranges, click on the change button and modify the original to something like 2001 to 99999.

2) Create a new range say 1 to 2000

3) Click on the flashlight to make it active.

I use this to segregate test requests vs. "real" requests. This helps the auditors understand which requests are valid.

4) When testing is complete activate your main number range.

Hello Ruth,

Yes, certaintly the number range be changed so that future requests will start in a new number sequence rather than following the current sequence. However, make sure that individual ranges do not overlap. For example, do not have a

number range with 1000u20131500 and another range with 1200u20132000. For creating the same, you may follow the steps as mentioned by Alpesh. Also you need to activate this to take effect.

Hersh.

Hi Ruth,

You can go to the number range and select the number range and click on change. Now, change the 'To Number' to be same as 'Current Number' and click on save. Once this is saved, create new number range and activate it.

You can not have overlapping number in any number ranges.
