Target Ledger Group / ASKBN

Hi Gurus,

I have several areas and among them a few one goes to a different ledger.

Question:

How can I set the system to avoid postings from leading area (01) to the different ledger? Is it possible at all?

In the transaction "Define how depreciation areas post to general ledger" I explicitly put 0L for the leading depreciation area but I can still see postings in the different ledger, even after launching ASKBN.

I defined different accounts for each depreciation area, so there is no problem to differentiate them but it is still not good enough for my client.

Thanks for your help

M

Hi Marcin,

What you would like to do is not possible. The leading posting area (book area) will always post to all ledgers.

Kind regards,

Brigitte,

Thanks for you answer. Well, That was my strong suspicion but before I go into some battle I just gave a longshot.

Thanks again

Hi,

You have to take into account that when posting an "Acquisitions" to an asset, this Acquisition goes to ALL ledgers in asset accounting. The ledgers assigned to the depreciation areas are used for depreciation postings. That is why you can see when posting AFAB that the postings are done according to these ledgers and the Acquisition goes to BOTH ledgers 0L (leading ledger) and L2 (non-leading ledger) in my example below.

A typical parallel ledger scenario customizing should look as follows:.

For Example:

AREA TEXT POST TO GL LEDGER

01 Local GAAP 1 (Real time) 0L

05 ABC 3 (Depreciation only) L2

XY DELTA AREA 5 or 6 (APC only or Only APC directly) L2

With this setting you assure that postings to L2 are only the ones that you would expect in a parallel ledger scenario.

I hope this helps further to clarify.

Kind regards,

Brigitte

Thanks for your inputs, but the client's idea is that the leading area goes ONLY to 0L.

I have no problems with derived areas which go to L1. They don't show values in 0L at all. Postings happen after ASKBN and only in L1.

My problem is that I want to turn off the leading area from posting to L1.

Cheers

Hi,

There is one more setting that you need to take care to overcome your issue.

You need to enter 3 (Areas post depreciation only) against non-leading ledger depreciation area. In that case, APC will not get posted again from ASKBN.
