Profit Center Authorization

Dear All,

I'm facing a problem in the profit center authorization, i need some users to access only one profit center which is not happening if i tried to restrict it using authorization object K_PCA and K_PCAR_REP

I'm working on ERP 6 EhP3

Hi,

Since you are on ECC 6.0 with EHP3 your job is easy now.

Perform the following activities:

Step (i): Activate the Switch for the relevant component, in your case it should be FIN_GL_CI_1.

Step( II): Once you perform the above step you will get an option "Activate Authorization Check for Profit Center" in SPRO under Financial Accounting (New) >Financial Accounting Global Settings (New)>Authorizations

Activate this option for your controlling areas by selecting the check box. It gives a transport request which you need to transport to the target system where you need authorization restriction at profit center level.

You can use the Object K_PCA

Caution: Before activating this switch you must be careful in identify the no of roles that are going to be affected with the help of functional guys, as you have to modify all those roles in advance to avoid any issues in Production system

If your functional team has followed the config steps correctly look at the following settings for the object

follow the SAP Examples below for the object K_PCAR_REP you can maintain individual profit centers

User A has authorization to report on profit center 4711 in company code 0100, but only for monthly values, not line items. Authorizations:

(BUKRS)Company code '0100'

(PRCTR)Profit center '0000004711'

(KSTAR)Cost element '*'

(ACTVT)Activity '27

User B has authorization to call up reports on all the profit centers for the cost elements in group 5 in company code 0400 (including line items):

Company code '0400'

Profit center '*'

Cost element '00005*'

Activity '27,28'

User C can report on all profit centers and cost elements in company code TEST:

Company code 'TEST'

Profit center '*'

Cost element '*'

Activity '*'

Have you tried K_PCAP_SET - (Planning Hierarchy) - there is a "controlling area" which might be what you need.
