Hi,
I would like to know what does "Variable Is Without Context" means while creating customer exit variable.
I read the SAP help but unable to comprehend its meaning.
As far as I understood : variable created with this option would not get filter on query. Is that right ?.
Has anybody used this option ?. If yes , please let me know the scenario where we should use this option.
Thanks,
Hello,
Varaible is Without context is not relavant with the Query execution it is independent of the Query execution.
Yes, this is used for the customer Exit.
While writting an EXIT in some cases we use system date ( current date ) and for Current year.
Eg: while exeuting a report in the CREATEON date variable the selection of parameter can he default diverted to Current Date.
Thanks

This option is only applicable in the case of variable processed in an exit, as the value can be calculated in the exit. One example is the 'Current Day' variable.

Shanthi - I'm still not clear with your comments. Can you explain with some example.
Geeta : Thanks for your example but I'm still not clear - since getting Current Date or Year would be easy in variable exit so why should be use this option.
Appreciate if you could explain with some relevant example.
All the thread I searched - I just found SAP help comments but not relevant example.
