Can we keep one cost element in more than one cost element groups.

As Ajay said, yes.

The only thing to keep in mind is:

If you use your cost element groups as elements of other, more comprehensive cost element groups (i.e. as part of cost element hierarchies), you can't use two groups in that way if they contain an identical cost element.

thanks for your response.

But I am using this in a program, and in master data i have cost element groups in the table. when i repeat the cost element in groups in causes run time error due to duplicate entry.

If you have any idea please suggest...

Hi,

What kind of a program/table you are talking about? Is it self-developed process? Cost elements assignment to groups is stored in SETLEAF table. You can use BAPI BAPI_COSTELEMENTGRP_GETLIST to extract this data in your program.
