Dear all

I've a problem adding ap invoices, type service - SAP 8.8 PL13.

I add an AP Invoice with two diferent rows, two diferente G/L Accounts and two diferent profit center. The journal entry of this documet don't have the distr. rule for both of the lines, just have the distr. rule for the first account chosen in the AP Invoice.

If I add an AP Invoive (service) with several lines, the same G/L Account but digerentes profit centers the JE is NOT OK, the dist. rule are missing.

If I add an AP Invoice (service) with just one row and just one profit center the Journal entry is OK.

Can anyone help me with this issue.

Kind regards,

Margarida Pedroso

Dear Margarida Pedroso,

If you have two profit centers in the invoice, it is better split to two invoices. It will be too hard to make distr. rule work for the second one based on distr. rule logic.

Thanks,

Dear Gordon

So what's the meaning of the cost profit in the lines of AP Invoices?

It works in 2007A SP01 PL 10. Is something wrong in SAP 8.8.

Kind Regards,

Margarida

If worked on 2007, you may check any changes made by system without your knowledge. One other user found their account automatically changed to a control account from normal after upgrade.

Dear Gordon

The database is a new one, is not an upgrade from 2007A.

Hi Margarida,

There are changes in the way Profit centres work in 8.8.

The text of a note is copied below, if it doesn't answer your situation, I suggest you search the notes database:

Difference between vers 2007 and 8.8 for COGS Profit Center

"Symptom

A sales or purchase document is added with a Profit Center defined on the line. When checking the Journal Entry the COGS account does not have a distribution rule even though the account is defined as type 'Sales'/'Expenditure'.

Other terms

Cost of goods sold, cost center, centre, cost accounting, distribution rule, expense

Reason and Prerequisites

Functionality Description

Solution

From version 8.8, when the line field 'COGS Profit Center' is not populated the COGS account in the Journal Entry will not have a defined Distribution Rule.

In versions prior to 8.8 the COGS account would get the value that was defined in the line field 'Profit Center' if the 'COGS Profit Center' field was left empty.

Please note that when the field 'Profit Center' is populated the 'COGS Profit Center' field will also be automatically updated with the same value.

The rules in Note 1085205 apply."
