Is there a way to establish SSO between BOE and SAP Portal?

Hi All,

In our landscape we have EP and BOE only. We need to bring BOE reports in Portal.

We are facing an issue while trying to do SSO. The documents that I searched/found dont say anything to do SSO between Portal and BOE. All of them talk about SAP R/3 or SAP BW system in between. SSO between EP and BW is done first and BOE integration kit will connect between BW and BOE and after that we can access BOE reports.

I have gone through the SDN wiki as well. It also talks about logon ticket exchange between BW and Portal. But in our landscape we dont have any other SAP system other than Portal and BOE.

We tried to install BOE Integration kit, but that needs Program ID, Gateway host etc of BW system. We cannot skip this step while installing.

Is there a way to establish SSO between BOE and Portal?

Please let me know your comments.

Regards

George

Hello Ingo,

we have also a Problem with the SSO between BOE Server and our BW Portal. Our Systems are in different Domains and we make all settings in BW as described in the SAP Documentation "http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a0/88a340fa432b54e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm"

but now we didn´t know what we have to to on BOE side to install the SAPSSOEXT and to get the corret UME Proberties that we have to put into BW.

Can you help us please on that issue? We can´t find any BOE Documentation for that and we working on that issue now for more then 5 weeks.

Thank you/Kind Regards

Hello Ingo,

so am i right that there is no way to use SSO for BW Portal and BOE Server when they are not in the same domain?

HI,

assuming you start with a token from the portal then ideally everything is in the same domain. otherwise you have to configure the portal for a cross domain SSO. if you search on the portal documentation on help.sap.com for cross domain SSO you can see the details

Hello Ingo,

we have setup the BW System for SSO in multiple Domains as described in Documentation: Configuring Logon Tickets for Multiple Domains

Now we don´t know what we have to setup on BOE side. We have implemented the SAPSSOEXT dll´s into BOE Server but at the moment we still have to login with User data in BW when we want to open an iView in BW from BOE Server.

Can you tell us what we have to configure on BOE Side or what is missing on BW Side? It is very difficult to find any documentation for BOE for that issue.

Thank you/Regards

Hi,

we have setup the BW System for SSO in multiple Domains as described in Documentation: Configuring Logon Tickets for Multiple Domains

>> you mentioned you start with the portal so its not BW that needs to handle multiple domains - it is the portal.

Hello Ingo,

in our case the BW ABAP and JAVA (Portal) are installed on same hardware and they are in the same domain. Only the BOE Server is in another domain.

BW ABAP side and the portal are configured to handle SSO in multiple domains.
