NWDI 7.01

Portal 7.01

I have modified the SAP com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par file with site specific chnages.

I have recently installed the NWDI and I would now like to create a track and keep my custom Portal application in the repository so developers could checkin and checkout the source.

I can use the cms wizard to create a Track for an application skeleton and then I select the template "Portal Application fo Netweaver 7.0"

I do not understand how to get this type of development into NWDI since it appears only sca's are checkedin and imported and I have a PAR file.

Please explain how this process works. I have not been able to find any documentation on this scenario.

Thank you,

Sarah

Hi,

the masthead par project is not dc, so I don't think it will be supported in NWDI.

Hi Sara,

If I understand, you have created the Product and Software Component and put these in a Track on CMS, and you want create a Development Component to put your Masthead customized, it´s correct??

Well, if you want this, do you need open the NWDS and open the perspective "Development Configuration", after that import the configuration (right clic at "OFFLINE" in Inactive DC and Import Configuration) and select your track. To create a new DC, you need open the tree and select your Software Somponent, right clic and "Create new DC" put the name and select Enterprise Portal -> Portal Content in Type area. Now you put your customized Masthead in this DC and check-in, release and transport.

Thank you, Edson Thomaz

Your information was hekpful.

I had to make one different selection on creating the D C than you suggested.

I choose select Enterprise Portal -> Portal Application Module in Type area.

So the process worked with this change

open the NWDS and open the perspective "Development Configuration", after that import the configuration (right clic at "OFFLINE" in Inactive DC and Import Configuration) and select your track. To create a new DC, you need open the tree and select your Software Somponent, right clic and "Create new DC" put the name and select Enterprise Portal -> Portal Application Module in Type area.

Browse to par file to create DC

Thank you,

Sarah
