Error activating bundle com.sap.sdb.tools.ui.repository in DataBase Studio

Hi All,

I installed SAP Netweaver CE 7.2 Server with SAP MAXDB and is working fine. I installed the DATABASE Studio to manage the database. On Using the installation Manager, the option of "Server + client" was disabled. Hence i went with client option. DB studio were successfully installed. Opening of Database studio, it throws an error -

"An error occurred while automatically activating bundle com.sap.sdb.tools.ui.repository. An error occurred while automatically activating bundle com.sap.sdb.tools.ui.repository".

I am unable to see "My Repository and Server" under Explorer Tab on Left Side. Explorer is Empty. What else needs to be done? How to resolve this error?

Hi,

Can you check logs for this (<user_home>\sdb\DatabaseStudio\.metadata\.plugins\com.sap.sdb.tools.core)

Installation must not be done properly,did you retry?

Ensure that the port of the SAP MaxDB X Server on the remote computer is not locked by a firewall.

Operating system user privile

make sure operating system users who want to start MaxDB Database Studio must be a member of the database administrator group. This group is created by default during the installation and is called 'sdba'.

Expand the PATH environment variable for the operating system user (example):

export PATH=/opt/sdb/programs/DatabaseStudio:$PATH

Hi,

During the installation, in the installation manager components group, the

"Server + Client" option is disabled. In all the Database studio documents, it is mentioned to proceed with Option 1 - "Server + client" as it enables to login to DB and create a DB instance. but for me that option itself is disabled. What has to be done?

Can you confirm you have followed the installation procedure mentioned in the SAP installation guide page 73?

Also check the pre-requsites mentioned in that document.
