Storing archive files through ArchiveLink

I have searched for a guide of how to store archive files created through transaction "SARA" in a 3rd. party storage system through ArchiveLink.

I have a good understanding of how to do the archiving through SARA using the FILE-transaction. I found somewhere that the logical filepath should be set to something like "<F=ARCHIVELINK><FILENAME>", but where and how do I specify the archivelink-parameter?

We want to archive workitems using the workitem-object and has done so in test by placing the file on a share, but now we would like to place the archive files through ArchiveLink.

Hi.

Yes I am sorry I haven't updated this thread. It is actually quite simple.

In transaction FILE you define your physical path as <F=ARCHIVELINK><FILENAME>. You also need to define the filename in the same transaction in the left menu under "Logical filenaname definition, cross-client".

Then you go to transaction OAC0 and define your content repository (archivelink).

Lastly go to transaction SARA, choose customize -> archive object specific customizing: technical settings (in the popup). In the screen that then appears, close to the bottom, a block is called "Place file in storage system". here you write the name of the content repository created in OAC0 - be aware that F4-search help may not show you the content repository, so you may have to manually write it (I had to).

In the same screen you have to specify the logical filepath you created in transaction "FILE".

Of course you also need to specify all other customizing settings such as filesize etc., but the above should allow for storage through archive link.

I hope this was helpful.

Hi Jesper,

I'm trying to do exactly the same as you want to. Any progress? Have you found where to configure the ARCHIVELINK parameter?

Thanks for your help.
