Hi,
Installed SAPCCM4x agent in satellite system. and i am able to see the agent in the CEN solution manager EHP1 . And the agent registration is fine. I had not created RFC Collect or Analyze.
But In Rz21>configure central system>assign central Autoreactions when I select the satellite system and click on
"MTE classes from system" I am getting system not available.
We need to create RFC even after registering the agent. If Yes then will i have to create RFC collect or Analyse or can i use the
Read and Trusted RFC's of SMSY. What is the difference
The CCMS agents are a bit like SAPOSCOL. SAPOSCOL collects data local to the SAP system running on the physical server. CCMS agents especially SAPCCMSR and SAPCCM4X are like rfcoscol (now obsolete). they collect data and send it to the CEN that are registered with it. SAPCCM4X is for servers running SAP and SAPCCMSR is for servers not running SAP instance but you need to collect the OS stats. The RFC destinations created from registering these with CEN are visible in OS07 and view the server hardware stats. this is one way of freeing up dialog processes on the target SAP you are trying to monitor which would otherwise be used by a customer's user for their work while we smtach the data from underneath and not affecting the system performance or resources. the agents can also be used in RZ20 for some of the monitoring for which you can set auto email alerts.
The RFC question was raised in my team but i believe you do need them and i assume its for the dashboard monitoring in DSWP, for which you also need to tell SMSY to use the RFC for solution Monitoring.
a bit of a strange way to monitor in 2 different ways.
hope its of some help
